What programs are you supporting?
  1. Legacy Print Journal: Established in 1981, the legacy print journal is ARCADE’s longest standing publication. The print journal is a bi-annual academic publication which features rotating, per topic writers, with content often highlighting essays, critical discourse, and concept-driven research. This is our legacy - help us keep it thriving.
  1. arc. Digital Feed: In 2025 we launched arc., a digital feed covering events, exhibitions and projects within arts and architecture in the PNW and beyond. arc. publishes timely articles on a rolling basis so that we can best promote current projects and better serve the communities that have historically shaped ARCADE—architecture, design and the built environment. Help us keep arc. running and further support local writers, designers, architects, and photographers!
  1. University of Washington x ARCADE: Writing about The Built Environment CBE Class, developed and led by Lauren Gallow, special lecturer and student advisor Leah St. Lawrence: In 2024, ARCADE partnered with the UW College of Built Environments and Lauren Gallow to develop and support a writing class about architecture and the built enviornment. With today's federal funding cuts, we are fundraising to continue this vital educational program at UW CBE!
  1. Living Room at West Canal Yards: ARCADE has taken up temporary residency at West Canal Yards, where we host our interns, staff, and community members. In addition to hosting our complete archive dating back to 1981, we facilitate a series of events and summer programming like our recent event Into the Archive: A Cocktail Party at West Canal Yards. We are hoping to continue to have in-person spaces where designers, writers, and architects can intermingle and work collaboratively on projects to support our ecosystem and creativity. Be a part of ARCADE's dynamic Living Room by supporting this program!
  1. Internships and Mentorship Programs: This summer we launched our first ever Editorial and Design internship program to expand on our longstanding legacy of mentorship and community support. In the past two months alone, we have brought on seven interns to work with ARCADE in various capacities—handling everything from community building, event programming, editorial, and design support. We value this labor and want to continue to offer stipends and grow our mentorship and internship program. We need your help to be able to continue to offer these opportunities!

As ARCADE continues to expand into new realms, we hope to develop our robust individual and organizational membership program to develop our team and sustain additional staff members. We hope to further engage and connect the Seattle arts and architecture community, providing opportunities for emerging writers, editors and creatives. Please join us for our first fundraiser in five years, Build with ARCADE, to sustain the next 40 years of ARCADE.
