Bringing Creativity (and Advocacy) to Design
IIDA NPC's Product Runway event has a long standing reputation in its community, but its reach goes beyond just a fun industry event where firms and manufacturers can show not just creativity, but technical prowess as well. Our Northern Pacific Chapter of the IIDA is embarking on a pivotal year in advocacy on behalf of the Interior Design Industry, and Product Runway is just one way to stay engaged.

Suchitra Mattei's Mythological Memory
Suchitra Mattei's solo exhibit at the Seattle Asian Art Museum: "she walked in reverse and found their songs", is a vibrant exploration of her Indo-Guyanese heritage. Suchitra’s art exists within a 'third space,' a convergence of South Asian, Western European, and indigenous Caribbean aesthetics, this blending creates a unique cultural hybridity evident in her choice of materials. This show runs through July 20th.

With so many obituaries in our city, this first edition of Arcade's new quarterly magazine hopes to convey that there is still creative life and a strong community thriving in Seattle and that publications such as ours will continue to highlight those individuals and projects. In this way, Arcade will help maintain a vibrant architecture, design, and arts ecosystem in the best way we know how: through journalism and publication.
